London Autistic Rights Movement

The London Autistic Rights Movement (London-ARM) is a civil rights organisation representing the interests of autistic people to wider society.

The aims of the group are:
  • To campaign for the civic and human rights of people on the autistic spectrum.
  • To promote a positive autistic identity and oppose negative stereotypes.
  • To promote the social model of disability.
  • To promote the principle “Nothing about aUtiSm without aUtiStics”

There are regular meetings in London; between meetings the politicsofautism email group is used for communication.

Contact the group at larm2008@gmail.com, or phone 0759 457 8152.

London-ARM is a member of Autreach Network.

Next General Meeting:

Thursday 28 January 2010, 6.30-8.30pm, Scope HQ, 6 Market Road (near Caledonian Road station).

For more information email moc.liamg@8002mral or phone 0759 457 8152.

LARM will be at the Right To Work conference on the 30 January in Manchester. We are going up there to highlight how the threatened public sector cutbacks may threaten disabled people, and in particular autistic people who continue to suffer social exclusion and to have their rights as citizens denied.
