⇒ Autreach in the UK and the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network in North America
and Australia invite you to take part in a new video project.
We’re looking for two-minute films from autistic people across the world reflecting how well autistic people can do when given a chance. All videos will be distributed to contributors, and selected entries will be professionally edited and shown at the first annual Treehouse lecture (22nd October 2008, City Hall, London). more information
⇒ Welcome IMFAR delegates, we hope you enjoyed your visit to London.
Autreach is a network of autonomous groups. Autreach groups subscribe to the Autreach principles, but every group is independent, has its own membership, governs and finances itself. Individuals are not members of “Autreach”, and Autreach is not directed or managed by any individual or group[1].
Some pages on this website are public, many others are available only to members of Autreach groups and those with an interest in Autreach projects. For access contact a group or email the site administrator. Access to protected (passworded) pages is via a Backpack account, which also enables registered members to update their pages.
The Autreach Network and the Autreach IT project were discussed at Autscape in August 2007. Following the Politics of Autism meeting at City Hall London on 12 September 2007 [2], the Autreach principles evolved from discussions on the Autreach Network Discussion Forum and the London Autistic Rights Movement email group, and were first posted at autreach.com.
The orthography of “Nothing about aUtiSm without aUtiStics” was coined by Autreach Admin in a private email group in October 2007.
This website is provided by the Autreach IT team as a service to Autreach groups.
Information can be updated by AutreachIT team members on behalf of groups (email for information), or group members can be given direct access to their pages via a free Backpack account.
