”The power of the Web is in its universality. Access by everyone regardless of disability is an essential aspect.” — Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director and founder of the World Wide Web (Web Accessibility Initiative)
Proposed organisation of main Autreach site with public area, protected area for group members, page for each group, and sub-site for AutreachIT. Could also use parts of design for “portal site” layout?
Why are these websites made with Backpack?
The online presence (website/forum/list etc) of a group will have a small team (may be just one person) with responsibility for maintaining it;
the web person or team should have reasonable autonomy in choosing technical means to deliver whatever objectives the group decides for the service;
however, among these objectives should be a way for anyone in the group to contribute or update content independently.
